When a male massage therapist unexpectedly faces his ex-lover
during a usual massage session, the massage session is a
spiraled revelation of truths and secrets.

This is our second short film, titled “Effleurage.”

In a dimly lit neighborhood spa, Diego, a massage therapist, faces the most perilous night of his life. His ex-boyfriend Liam, unpredictable and bruised by life, storms in, holding up the spa without knowing Diego is on duty. As fate would have it, they’re separated by a thin curtain from other masseurs in the massage area.

Diego freezes upon recognizing Liam’s voice, while Liam stiffens with a mix of shock and anger. The tension builds through their hushed, emotionally voice-over dialogue, echoing through the walls as the spa operates oblivious to the drama unfolding. Memories, regrets, and blame are exchanged like invisible blows.

As sirens approach, Diego makes a silent, desperate choice: one final attempt to save everyone, including Liam. The film concludes with Liam walking out into the night alone, leaving the audience wondering: Did Diego survive, or did love ultimately cost him his life?
The curtain’s gentle sway is the only hint at the tragic events that may have transpired.

This psychological thriller delves into themes of love, desperation, and redemption, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. The film’s climax is a masterclass in suspense, raising more questions than it answers. Will Diego’s attempt to save Liam succeed, or will their tumultuous past seal their fate? The ambiguity is haunting, lingering long after the credits roll.
